The Role

Millions of people use ComfyUI to make AI images and video. The Developer Platform is how developers use ComfyUI their way. They deploy a serverless ComfyUI environment. They call any partner model through Comfy Router with one API key. They manage keys, limits and spend. They connect Comfy to their own agents through Comfy MCP.

We build this platform from the ground up. We are looking for a senior product designer to own it end to end.

You will be the design DRI for the full developer surface: the console, onboarding, the docs experience, and usage and billing. You will work directly with the pillar PM and the platform engineers. You will make the product decisions that design is responsible for.

You must know the developer. Either you were a developer, or you are one, or you have many years of experience in developer products.

This is not a role where a PM gives you a finished specification and you make it look good. You will get an unclear platform problem. You will find out who the developer is and what they try to do. Then you will carry the solution from problem to shipped UI.

What You Will Do

• Own the design of the developer console: environments, API keys, Router, usage, spend, rate limits and workspace settings.

• Turn new models, endpoints and capabilities into clear interfaces as the platform ships. The API surface moves fast, and you will keep pace with it.

• Design the hard states: failed deploys, empty credit balances, rate-limit errors and missing permissions. In developer tools, an error message is an interface.

• Shape the docs and quickstart experience with the docs PM. The reference material and the console must feel like one product.

• Talk to the developers who build on Comfy, and read how they use the API, before you decide what to build.

• Build what you design. Write the frontend code for your features and submit the PRs.

• Set the design bar and direction for the Developer Platform pillar.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

• Know the developer from the inside. You have written software and you have spent years on developer products and can show it.

• Speak the language. You know what an API key, a webhook, a rate limit and a serverless deploy are. You do not need a translator to design for them.

• Have 6+ years of product design experience, with developer-facing products that you shipped and can show: a console, an API platform, a cloud product or an SDK.

• Have owned a product surface end to end without a design manager over your shoulder. You can show the decisions you made and why.

• Have strong information architecture skills. You can take a tangle of objects, permissions and relations and make it feel like one clear thing.

• Have high craft. Typography, density, spacing and interaction details matter to you, and you have shipped work that other designers respect.

Bonus Points

• You have used ComfyUI, or another node-based or workflow tool, and have opinions about it.

• You use other AI creation tools such as Krea, Runway, Higgsfield, Flora, etc and you know how they compare.

What This Role Is Not

• A visual polish role where the product decisions are made somewhere else.

• A marketing or docs-writing role.

• A management role. This is a senior IC position with full ownership of one product surface.
