About Dune Security:

Company Overview: Dune Security is the world’s first User Adaptive Risk Management solution. Powered by AI, we quantify employee risk with comprehensive data and automatically deliver user-adaptive training and intervention. For higher-risk users, our platform integrates seamlessly with the broader security stack to dynamically implement securitymeasures. Backed by Craft Ventures, Toba Capital, MassMutual Ventures, Alumni Ventures, Firestreak Ventures, and Antler, we empower CISOs to proactively manage human risk—the leading cause of cybersecurity breaches—and build safer, more resilient organizations.

Role Overview: We’re looking for a motivated Contract Software Engineering Intern to help design, build, and deliver engaging interactive learning experiences. Reporting to our instructional design lead and working closely with our engineering team, you will create SCORM-compliant modules, optimize them for accessibility and mobile devices, and ensure seamless integration with our Learning Management System (LMS). This is a hands-on opportunity to apply technical skills to impactful education solutions while gaining experience in the fast-growing field of cybersecurity learning.

This role is ideal for someone who wants an opportunity to prove themselves at a fast-growing, innovative cybersecurity startup—where high performers may have the chance to grow into expanded responsibilities in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop interactive eLearning modules using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript that meet SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 standards.
  • Package and validate content for seamless LMS integration.
  • Collaborate with designers and instructional staff to produce engaging, accessible, and learner-focused experiences.
  • Optimize modules for mobile responsiveness and performance across devices.
  • Apply basic graphic design and media optimization techniques to improve learner engagement.
  • Debug and resolve front-end issues to ensure smooth course delivery.
  • Document processes, share best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of the learning development workflow.
  • Learn and grow by taking on additional technical or project responsibilities as skills and business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in software engineering, web development, instructional technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript for interactive content.
  • Experience with SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 standards.
  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or iSpring Suite.
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices for online learning.

Preferred:

  • Experience integrating content with an LMS.
  • Basic graphic design or multimedia editing skills.
  • Knowledge of responsive design for mobile delivery.
  • Interest in building a career in eLearning, web development, or cybersecurity.
  • What You’ll Bring:

    • You are a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for creating intuitive, high-quality digital learning experiences. You enjoy collaborating across teams, learning new tools, and translating creative ideas into functional, user-friendly solutions. You’re adaptable, open to feedback, and committed to making learning accessible and engaging for diverse audiences. You’re also ambitious—eager to take ownership, demonstrate impact, and explore future opportunities to grow with a company that values innovation and talent.

    Additional Details:

    • Location: Remote available, NYC area preferred.
    • Hours: Part-time.

Joining Dune Security means embracing a unique opportunity to shape the future of cybersecurity. If you're passionate about innovation and ready to take on significant responsibility, we encourage you to apply.
