Position Overview:

As the Accounting Manager at Horizon3, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Your role will involve managing day-to-day accounting operations, enhancing internal controls, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage budgets.
• Oversee the accounts payable and procurement processes, ensuring accurate and timely approval and processing, recording, and reconciliation.
• Coordinate future financial audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and working closely with external auditors.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to drive efficiency in the accounting function.
• Participate in various strategic initiatives, such as system implementations, mergers, acquisitions, and other ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Startup or technology industry experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience with undergoing growth and scale at a prior company, as well building processes and procedures or undergoing financial audits is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and proficiency in accounting software and tools. Experience with SageIntacct (or similar), MS Office, and/or Google Workspace is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of using data-driven insights to support decision-making.
• Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a remote environment, able to time-manage, multitask and adapt to evolving priorities.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality, ethics, and professional standards in handling financial information.

Travel Required

We are a fully remote company, and this job may require some travel. All job-related travel expenses will be reviewed and approved by your manager.

Compensation Disclosure:

In accordance with various State’s transparency regulations, we provide the following salary range information for this position:

• Base salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually. The exact salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and relevant skills.
• Additional compensation: This role may also be eligible for performance bonuses, equity options, and other benefits which will be discussed during the interview process.
