Get to Know Us
Horizon3.ai is a fast-growing, remote cybersecurity company dedicated to the mission of enabling organizations to proactively find and fix and verify exploitable attack vectors before criminals exploit them. Our flagship product, the NodeZeroTM platform, delivers production-safe autonomous pentests and other key assessment operations that scale across the largest internal, external, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. NodeZero has been adopted by organizations of all sizes, from small educational institutions to government agencies and Global 100 enterprises. It is used by ITOps/SecOps teams, consulting pentesters, and MSSPs and MSPs.
We are a fusion of former U.S. Special Operations cyber operators, startup engineers, and formerly frustrated cybersecurity practitioners. We're committed to helping solve our common security problems: ineffective security tools, false positives resulting in alert fatigue, blind spots, "checkbox” security culture, cybersecurity skills shortage, and the long lead time and expense of hiring outside consultants. Collectively, we are a team of learn it alls, committed to a culture of respect, collaboration, ownership, and results.
What You’ll Do
We’re looking for an Office Operations Manager who can both run a high-functioning local office (Chicago) and help design and scale our broader workplace strategy across the U.S. This role is based in our Chicago office and is expected to be in-office 4–5 days per week to support day-to-day operations, employee experience, and on-site execution.
This is not a facilities-only role. This is a operator + strategist role for someone who is equally comfortable:
Restocking a fridge and running a great in-office experience
Supporting lease negotiations and standing up new locations
Translating ambiguous business needs into scalable workplace solutions
As Horizon3 continues to grow, we need to move from ad hoc office decisions to a thoughtful, repeatable, and scalable workplace model. This role is a key part of building that muscle.
If you’re someone who sees an office not just as a space but as a system that enables people to do their best work, this role is for you.
This role will be responsible for:
Office Operations
Help stand up and operationalize our new Chicago office, bringing a thoughtfully designed space to life and ensuring it runs smoothly from day one
Own the day-to-day operations of the Chicago hub, ensuring a high-quality, seamless employee experience
Manage vendors, supplies, office services, and on-site logistics
Support in-office events, team gatherings, and leadership visits
Act as the local point of contact for employees, leaders, and cross-functional partners
Maintain a workplace that reflects our culture: high ownership, low friction, high trust
Workplace Strategy & Expansion
Partner with Sr. Director, People Operations, Finance, and the broader leadership team to define our U.S. workplace strategy
Evaluate new market opportunities (e.g., NYC, D.C.) based on business needs, hiring plans, and cost considerations
Translate ambiguous requirements into clear scopes, options, and recommendations
-
Lead end-to-end office expansion projects, including:
Market research and location evaluation
Scoping trips and on-the-ground assessments
Requirements gathering from business stakeholders
Own timelines, dependencies, and execution from idea → decision → launch
Operations & Systems Thinking
-
Build repeatable frameworks for:
Office evaluation and decision-making
Vendor management and cost optimization
Workplace standards across locations
Identify opportunities to reduce friction, improve consistency, and scale efficiently
Partner cross-functionally (People, Finance, IT, Security) to ensure alignment and execution
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience in office operations, workplace management, or facilities at a scaling company
Experience managing physical spaces AND projects (not just one or the other)
Strong project management skills with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously
Experience with vendor management, budgeting, and lease or contract negotiation support
Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured plans and execution paths
Strong cross-functional partnership skills; comfortable influencing without formal authority
High ownership mindset—you see problems and solve them without waiting
How You Operate:
You are equally comfortable in the details and the strategy
You think in systems, not one-off solutions
You prioritize speed + quality, not perfection
You are pragmatic—you know when “good enough” is the right call
-
You take pride in making environments feel effortless for others
What Sets You Apart?
You’ve helped open, scale, or relocate offices in multiple markets
You bring a product mindset to operations—you iterate, measure, and improve
You naturally look for ways to standardize without over-engineering
You can operate independently in a remote-first company while owning a physical location
You’re excited by the idea of building something that doesn’t fully exist yet
