Applied Machine Learning Engineer (Vienna, VA)
The Applied Machine Learning Engineer will leverage advanced knowledge of computer science and data science principles and will develop and deploy state-of-the-art generative AI models for the Company’s technical healthcare systems. Specific duties will include the following:
- Work with a team of data scientists and engineers to develop and deploy AI models to be used in the operation of the Company’s highly technical AI platform.
- Perform hands-on technical keyboard development for cutting-edge generative AI models.
- Use EHR, FHIR, or Claims data to develop AI models that improve patient outcomes.
- Responsible for providing Scaling Transformer Neural Network training and testing in production for AI technical models that run on over 100M patient records.
- Analyze industry trends and collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify new use cases and opportunities for AI in healthcare.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and healthcare technology and advise management of such advancements as well as recommendations to enhance the Company’s technology.
May telecommute 100% of the workweek within the United States
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related quantitative field, plus one (1) year of experience performing machine learning and artificial intelligence engineering and research. Experience, which may be gained prior, during, or completion of advanced degree and may be gained concurrently, must include the following:
- One (1) year of experience with Transformer Neural Network training and testing in production.
- One (1) year of experience with MLOps, automation, and CI/CD in cloud environments.
- One (1) year of experience working with EHR, FHIR, or Claims data.
- One (1) year of experience using Python, TensorFlow, and other AI-related tools, including GPUs/TPUs, leveraging DeepSpeed, PyTorch Distributed, and Horovod to ensure efficient parallelism within a maintainable codebase.
