Software Engineer (Data Eng)

(Backend AWS, FHIR Mapping, API Integration)

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to our healthcare data mapping and modeling efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the backend of AWS, mapping healthcare data to FHIR, and connecting various APIs to run inference using our transformer model.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement scalable data models and pipelines to support healthcare data mapping and modeling
Work with FHIR resources and connect healthcare APIs to run inference using our transformer model
- Develop and maintain backend infrastructure on AWS, including serverless architectures, data storage, and compute resources
- Collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, and software engineers to implement data-driven solutions and models
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure data quality and availability

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience working with AWS backend infrastructure, including serverless architectures, data storage, and compute resources
- Familiarity with FHIR resources and healthcare APIs
- Experience with data modeling and pipeline development
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Expert skills in Dagster, DBT, Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, or comparable data pipeline software
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Compensation & Benefits

The salary for this role is $100,000 – $150,000. In addition to salary, total compensation includes the following
- Healthcare, dental, and vision insurance for your entire family
- Equity (stock options) valued between $50,000 - $100,000.
- Unlimited vacation and 15+ company holidays per year
- Work directly with the founders
