Overview

We have a tremendous opportunity to lead in the era of AI with Microsoft AI. As a Director of Product Marketing, you’ll play a critical role in managing a team of product demo product marketing managers, shaping the narrative around Copilot and Agents, enabling our customers and sellers with demo assets to accelerate sales and drive successful understanding, preference, and adoption across our customer audiences.

The Copilot Experiences product marketing team is looking for a Director, Product Marketing who is highly strategic, simplifies the complex, and has a passion for demonstrating product magic. This is a chance to lead the team that is re-wiring the way the world works.

To be successful, you will lead the strategy and manage the execution of the product demos for the AI Business Solutions customer solution area for marketing events and enabling our field sellers and partners to demo with customers to drive pipeline and revenue. Products include: M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, M365 Apps, Teams, Viva, Windows, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.

You will be a master storyteller using both products and scenarios to drive E2E storytelling in demos. You will guide the team in scoping the demo scenario with the PMM team or field seller requests and you will own decision-making on the demo asset type based on based on solid understanding of wants and needs. You will help the team define the narrative, content and instructions of demos for event demos and field scenarios including functional and industry pivots.

You’ll own the team KPIs for the demo assets produced. You will own the demo platform strategy for defining the next generation AI-first demo platform for our field sellers and partners. This will require the formulation of both long-term strategies and month-to-month execution, and deep partnership with stakeholders across marketing, sales, and engineering.

As a key figure for our ITDM and IT Pro audiences, you’ll be interfacing with customers and partners as part of our advocacy work to accelerate growth. You are comfortable behind the scenes but also ready to get on stage and demonstrate storytelling excellence with customers and at large events.

Responsibilities

Strategy Development and Execution: Develop strategy and executing the product demo center of excellence for your assigned product area in the demo center of excellence. This will require ability to identify priority scenarios and use cases across the following product areas: M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, M365 Apps, Teams, Viva, Windows, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform.

BOM/Asset Management: Own scoping needs of new demo requests and make decisions on the demo asset type based on a solid understanding of wants and needs. Help the team define the narrative, content, and instructions of demos for field scenarios, including functional and industry pivots.

Narrative, Storytelling & Demo Delivery: Develop the strategy, core messaging and positioning for demos. Demonstrate excellence in product storytelling and storytelling through demos including ability to deliver world-class demos to customers and at events with TDM/BDM audiences.

Platform Strategy: Help drive the next demo platform strategy for defining the next-generation demo platform for field sellers and partners.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with various departments, including marketing, sales, IT and product engineering to ensure the successful execution of demo assets and environments. Provide guidance to sales and partners on demo excellence to influence pipeline and deal velocity.

Customer Centricity: Represent customer voice – needs – and unmet needs – to shape product and marketing roadmap.

Project and Change Management: Create and drive at project-level, communication and change management plans for field enablement of demos.

People Management: Drive employee growth and development, execute projects, and manage performance. Be an ambassador of our culture.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master’s degree in marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ year’s experience in business
    • OR bachelor’s degree in marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ year’s experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams)

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years’ experience in business
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years’ experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • Experience in product marketing with a focus on inbound marketing approaches, including developing demo experiences and translating customer needs into compelling narratives that drive product understanding and adoption.
  • Attention to detail, including ensuring a consistently high bar for accuracy and quality across highly visible, customer-facing content, with an ability to review and refine even minor elements to elevate the overall experience.
  • Track record of creating compelling end-to-end storytelling that balances functional and emotional narratives, bringing product experiences to life across varied audiences.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment to drive prioritization and navigate trade-offs across competing priorities in complex or dynamic environments.
  • Experience building or fostering inclusive team environments by encouraging diverse perspectives, supporting open dialogue, and contributing to team growth and development



Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
