About Luminai
Nearly every organization in the world relies on complex manual work to carry out critical internal processes. These are processes that keep the world going — enrolling patients in a hospital, underwriting loans inside a bank, or processing new transactions for an airline. Yet most companies don’t have enough resources to properly automate these tasks and are stuck in manual, decades old way of doing things.
At Luminai, we develop technology to automate long-form organization wide workflows of any complexity easily and safely using AI. Luminai serves some of the world’s most critical organizations in sectors like Healthcare, Finance, and Telecommunication to delegate mission-critical workflows that previously required hands-on human involvement, over to autonomous AI systems. Our approach combines frontier AI development, with a purpose built workflow execution engine to achieve this goal.
We've raised significant amounts of capital (including some un-announced) from many of the best Silicon Valley VCs: General Catalyst, YCombinator, and investors including Kevin Weil (Chief Product Officer at OpenAI), Arash Ferdowsi (co-founder of Dropbox), Katie Stanton (former VP Global Media, Twitter) and CEOs of companies including Flexport, Notion, Front, Ramp and Twitch.
As our Head of Talent, you will own end-to-end recruiting and help build the people foundations that let Luminai scale. This is a high-impact role at a key growth moment. You’ll be responsible for building hiring strategy, running full-cycle recruiting across teams, and evolving our hiring processes as we grow.
You’ll partner closely with leadership and hiring managers to define what “great” looks like, build repeatable systems, and deliver a candidate experience that reflects the way we operate: high-ownership, high-velocity, and high standards.
This is a hybrid position. Our team is in-office 3 days a week (Mon, Tue, Thu) in San Mateo, California.
What You'll Do:
Own full-cycle recruiting across the company, with an initial focus on high-priority roles across Engineering, Product, Design, and GTM
Partner with founders and hiring managers to align on role requirements, leveling, scorecards, and interview loops
Build proactive sourcing strategies to consistently generate high-quality pipelines across critical roles
Develop and run the recruiting operating system: pipeline reviews, process improvements, structured debriefs, and decision-making cadence
Lead offer strategy and closing, including compensation and equity conversations, and ensure a smooth, high-conviction close process
Track and report recruiting metrics (pipeline health, conversion rates, time-to-fill, sources of hire) to continuously improve outcomes
Build scalable hiring infrastructure (ATS workflows, interview training, candidate experience standards, coordination processes)
Own and evolve employer branding efforts, including messaging, referrals, and community-building to support long-term talent pipelines
Partner with leadership on people foundations as needed (onboarding, role clarity, feedback loops) to ensure the team scales cleanly
What We’re Looking For:
7+ years of recruiting / talent experience, ideally in high-growth technology companies
Proven success owning full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions and seniority levels
Strong sourcing and closing ability, you know how to find great people and get them across the line
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with comfort partnering directly with leadership
Strong operational muscle: you build systems, run cadence, and keep high-signal process without slowing teams down
Data-driven approach to recruiting, with experience using metrics to improve funnel performance
Familiarity with ATS platforms (ideally Ashby) and building lightweight, scalable recruiting workflows
Experience hiring in healthcare or enterprise software is a plus
Compensation Range: $100K - $170K
