About Norm Ai

Norm Ai is the Compliance AI Platform for legal standards-based reasoning & workflow automation.

We developed the first Domain Specific Language (DSL) for fully representing regulatory requirements in AI code. This DSL, deployed with our enterprise platform, enables Norm clients to transform workflows and apply compliance checks at the source of business activities.

We are setting the norms for compliance processes at the largest institutions in the world. Our client base includes firms with a combined $17 Trillion in assets under management, and growing quickly.

Our Software Engineers came from Palantir, Google, Meta, AWS, Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. Our Legal Engineers are from Harvard Law, Stanford Law, Yale Law, Sullivan & Cromwell, Simpson Thacher, Davis Polk, Greenberg Traurig, the SEC, and FINRA.

We have raised $85 million over the past 18 months from top VCs and global institutions, including Vanguard, Blackstone, Bain Capital, Coatue, Craft Ventures, New York Life, Citi, TIAA, and Marc Benioff.

About the Role

As a Staff Product Manager at Norm Ai, you'll drive strategy and execution for one of our core product lines within our AI-driven compliance platform that's transforming how Legal and Compliance teams operate. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth startup during a pivotal expansion phase, working directly with the Head of Product and other company leaders to shape both your product line and our PM function. You'll work directly with enterprise clients and Norm Legal Engineers to understand their needs, define what we build, and drive features from concept through launch.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you'll help build processes while shipping product and owning strategy for your product line. You'll need to thrive in ambiguity, create structure where none exists, and be comfortable being a key PM voice in critical decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Drive comprehensive product strategy: Take full strategic ownership of a product - whether it's our entire client-facing compliance platform, our internal Legal Engineering Automation Platform, or new product lines - ensuring it evolves as a coherent system that delivers exceptional value and scales with our business.

  • Be a strategic product leader: Represent product vision at the executive level, influence company strategy, and serve as the senior product voice with major enterprise clients and partners.

  • Set product strategy and execution standards: Define the vision and strategy for your product line while establishing the bar for product excellence - from strategic planning through detailed execution with Engineering, Design, Legal Engineering, and go-to-market teams.

  • Work directly with enterprise clients: Bring a customer-obsessed mindset and build relationships with Compliance teams at major enterprises in regulated industries to deeply understand their workflows and pain points.

  • Drive product decisions end-to-end: Determine what to build at both the strategic and feature level, then partner with Engineering, Design, Legal Engineering or Client Engagement to ship high-quality solutions.

  • Solve enterprise complexity at scale: Create frameworks for balancing customization with platform scalability, making architectural decisions that allow us to serve hundreds of enterprises without compromising product coherence.

  • Shape our AI capabilities: Work closely with our AI team to determine how to best leverage AI for compliance workflows, ensuring we deliver powerful and trustworthy features.

  • Drive business outcomes: Define success metrics that connect product performance to business results (revenue, retention, market expansion) and build systems to track and optimize them.

  • Build product excellence: Establish product management standards, mentor other PMs, and create the frameworks and culture that will scale our product organization.

Skills & Experience - Core

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with significant experience building complex workflow products, preferably in regulated industries.

  • Enterprise platform leadership: You've led product strategy for B2B platforms serving enterprise clients, with proven ability to scale products from early adoption to market leadership.

  • Comfortable building from scratch: You've established processes in ambiguous environments and can create structure without heavy guidance. You don't need existing frameworks to be effective.

  • AI product experience: You've worked on AI-powered products and can collaborate effectively with engineers, understanding both the possibilities and limitations of AI in enterprise contexts.

  • Strong technical fluency: Ability to go deep on technical discussions, make informed architecture decisions, and earn credibility with engineering teams.

  • Business outcome ownership: Proven track record of driving measurable business impact - revenue growth, market expansion, or operational efficiency - through product strategy.

  • Exceptional communication: Ability to influence stakeholders, align cross-functional teams, and translate complex requirements into clear product direction.

Skills & Experience - Pluses

  • Professional software engineering experience and/or Computer Science degree

  • Experience being a first or early PM at a startup - you've helped build PM processes from scratch before

  • Experience with LLMs in production

  • Background in legal tech, compliance, or other regulated industries

  • Series B startup experience where you've scaled products from early adopters to broader market
