Why join Pave?

At Pave, our vision is simple - Make Compensation Fair.

How are we going to get there? By building the most intelligent compensation platform, powered by the largest real-time compensation dataset on earth.

We partner with our customers to help them build and retain world-class teams through planning, communicating and benchmarking their team’s compensation in real time. And you don’t have to just hear it from usyou can hear it from our customers: Hover, Sweetgreen, Airtable and more.

We’re growing fast, building an incredible team and product, and having plenty of fun as we do it in our San Francisco and New York City offices.

If stretching the rubber band, building with intellectual honesty and focusing on impact sounds exciting - we highly encourage you to reach out. We’d love to partner on our journey to change the world of compensation!

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to help us continue to path-find on a new product investment for Pave. You will be joining an incredibly talented team of fast-moving, product-oriented engineers and a designer. You’ll work extremely closely with engineering, design, and GTM pod leaders to guide the team. This product investment represents a major – but still early – strategic investment for Pave, and we’re looking for someone to lead the charge to ensure we’re building a product that our customers love and creates meaningful impact for Pave’s business.

The product is a complex workflow product built for HR Leaders who are creating and managing the compensation bands and ranges at their company based on market data. Compensation bands are the building blocks of how companies compensate their employees, which means this is at the heart of our customer’s workflows and the Pave product suite.

Your focus

  • Continue to path-find on a new product investment for Pave, proving out the value of this direction for our strategy
  • Work incredibly closely with engineering and design to build a product that our customers can’t live without, for a complex and gritty workflow
  • Shape our GTM strategy for succeeding in the market by getting to know our prospects and early customers
  • Help us understand how this new product investment for Pave fits into our overall product strategy, working closely with the Product and Leadership teams
  • Bring the whole organization along this journey, with clear communication at all altitudes

About you

  • Impact-driven and high-ownership: you’ll do whatever it takes to have a meaningful impact on Pave’s business.
  • Relentlessly customer-focused: you are constantly in pursuit of solving real problems for customers, and get creative to ensure we’re always putting the customer first.
  • Scrappy and make things happen: you are willing to do whatever it takes to help your broader team achieve its goals, with a bias towards action.
  • You are a strong collaborator, who believes that building products is a team sport: you’re getting into the details with engineering and design, and then zooming out with company leaders.
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, ideally with the full life cycle of bringing something to market and iterating with GTM teams
  • Owned successful B2B SaaS products focused from inception through launch and growth – bonus points if you’ve seen complex workflow products, or worked in the HR or data space.
Compensation, It's What We Do.

This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Pave's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Pave will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, commuter benefits, catered lunch, an unlimited PTO policy, and many other region-specific benefits.

Our Compensation Philosophy

Pave’s compensation philosophy is to target the 75th percentile of the market for both cash and equity at your job level. This means that the “mid point” of every band at Pave is the 75th percentile of the broader market.

Pave also has a merit-based philosophy when it comes to compensation increases. We run a performance cycle twice per year to evaluate employees’ performance. Higher than average performance ratings result in compensation increases to the upper end of the individual’s compensation range for their role. The result is that high performers at Pave are paid above the 75th percentile of the market at large.

Pave is committed to pay equity. If you get an offer from Pave, it will be based on your level as determined by your interview performance. And nothing else. We explicitly do not negotiate salary and equity to ensure that we aren’t introducing bias that could lead to pay inequities within the team between candidates who have different negotiation tactics.
