The Research & Design Org @ Pave
The R&D organization encompasses engineering, product, design, data science, and security. We’re a high performing team that moves between ideation, scoping, and execution in a matter of days. Everyone on the team has high agency to design, experiment, and build great software in partnership with our pre-sales and post-sales teams, and our clients.
We're seeking passionate engineers who are excited about building robust, data-rich systems that simplify complex compensation processes at scale. Our stack is React, TypeScript, Node.js, MySQL, and BigQuery hosted on GCP.
What You'll Do
- Lead one of our growing product engineering teams to deliver high business impact
- Manage the team, while being steeped in the code
- Lead by example with clarity of thought and effective prioritization
- Partner with product and design to make product decisions balancing customer need and technical debt
- Align with other product and platform teams to effectively reuse components and patterns
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to all stakeholders
- Maintain a positive culture that is both supportive and keeps the bar high
- Coach and mentor the team through constructive feedback
- Recruit and scale a team of passionate, hard-working engineers
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years management experience on high performing teams
- Firsthand experience with engineering excellence from CI/CD and code reviews, all the way to PRDs and KPIs
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams through planning and execution of large technical projects that span multiple quarters
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear direction, set expectations, and provide actionable feedback
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and tackle problems with high agency and resilience. Well-suited to lead in a startup environment
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive team culture that empowers team members from all backgrounds
Compensation, It's What We Do.
Salary is just one component of Pave's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Pave will include equity, top-notch medical, dental, and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and many other region-specific benefits. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. This salary range may include multiple levels.
$195,500 - $230,000 - $264,500

Since being founded in 2019 Pave has grown globally. We’re based across our HQ in San Francisco’s FiDi neighborhood, Flatiron in NYC and regional hubs in Salt Lake City and the United Kingdom. We embrace a high-energy, collaborative in-person work environment at these locations, operating on a hybrid schedule that brings teams together in-office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
