Seated exists to help restaurants thrive in an industry defined by thin margins and underutilized capacity. We connect thousands of restaurants with millions of high-intent diners through demand-driven pricing and rewards, helping restaurants fill empty tables, reach new guests, increase visit frequency, and drive profitable incremental revenue.

Since launching, billions of dollars in restaurant spend have flowed through Seated, and hundreds of millions of dollars in rewards have been paid to Seated consumers. Today, Seated operates across 20+ U.S. markets and continues to expand nationally.

Our core marketplace is thriving. Now, we're focused on expanding the value Seated creates for restaurants and consumers and building the company's next major growth engine.

Role Overview

Seated is looking for a technically deep Product Manager to own product delivery across the systems that power our restaurant network, from merchant matching and card-linked transaction data through rewards, billing, and partner integrations.

This role sits inside engineering and owns the path from business request to shipped feature. You'll translate requests from across the business into scoped work, decide what gets committed each cycle, and stay with each item until it is live and verified. You'll write the specs, pull your own data, and own the outcome rather than handing it off.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll partner closely with Sales, Restaurant Success, Operations, Partnerships, Finance, and Leadership to align the roadmap against what the business actually needs.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap for Seated's payments and platform systems, balancing business commitments, revenue impact, and engineering capacity
  • Identify opportunities and scope the impact of issues through your own data analysis, not only through inbound requests
  • Translate requests from Sales, Restaurant Success, Operations, and Finance into scoped, prioritized product work
  • Write specifications and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from without further translation
  • Own specifications for payments and platform integrations across card networks, processors, and third-party vendors
  • Evaluate vendors and own the build-versus-buy recommendation
  • Own the monthly planning cycle, from stakeholder intake through sizing to a committed plan
  • Manage sprint execution, keep delivery status accurate, and hold the line on scope when priorities shift mid-cycle
  • Own acceptance testing and verify behavior in staging before release
  • Define success metrics and confirm that shipped features moved them
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and slippage to leadership on a regular cadence
  • Help build and scale the product management function over time

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in product management on a technically deep product such as payments, fintech, API platforms, or infrastructure
  • A computer science degree or an equivalent technical background, such as prior experience as an engineer or analyst
  • Experience with payments infrastructure, including card network flows, authorization and settlement lifecycles, or processor and gateway integrations
  • Proficiency with SQL and the ability to independently pull, validate, and analyze your own data
  • Ability to read an API schema, trace a webhook, and reason about idempotency, retries, and reconciliation
  • Experience writing technical specifications and acceptance criteria for engineering teams
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve research, execution, and decision-making
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to independently QA and validate work
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write precisely for engineers and concisely for executives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to say no and explain the trade-off

Nice to haves

  • Direct experience with merchant matching, merchant identifier (MID) management, or card-linked offers
  • Experience with billing, invoicing, or revenue systems
  • Experience working on restaurant technology, marketplaces, or two-sided consumer platforms
  • Experience partnering with a distributed or offshore engineering team

Benefits

  • $150,000 - $170,000 base salary + stock options
  • 401k with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • FSA, dependent care, and commuter benefits
  • Paid parental leave and unlimited PTO
  • TeleDoc, One Medical, Talkspace, and WellHub access
  • Citi Bike membership
  • $100 monthly Seated dining credit
