  • Work closely with vehicle engineering teams to develop checkout procedures for flight hardware
  • Maintain operational readiness of all systems supporting Dragon spacecraft ground operations
  • Work with and direct skilled technician workforce to carry out integrated system build, operation, and maintenance
  • Develop and test automation to improve the efficiency and reliability of spacecraft operations
  • Design new systems and improve existing ones to support vehicle processing requirements
  • Support integration of both pressurized and unpressurized cargo
  • Support transport and integration of Dragon onto the Falcon 9 launch vehicle
  • Select components, such as DAQ, instrumentation, valves, pumps, piping, tanks, and filters, and provide specifications for their purchase
  • Complete design and drafting of schematics (piping and instrumentation diagrams)
  • Provide innovative solutions to problems while working with minimal supervision

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of experience with multi-disciplinary system assemblies (past work experience, internships, team/personal projects with aerospace vehicles/payloads, automotive, aircraft, or marine assemblies qualify)

  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or hands-on experience working with fluid, electrical or mechanical systems in a professional setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, build, and/or operation of pressurized fluid systems
  • Experience with hypergolic propellants or other hazardous materials
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and/or industrial control systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication, especially translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
