About Ghost
Founded in 2021, Ghosts Inc is a private company that combines real-time data with intelligent solutions to help brands monetize their excess inventory discreetly and sustainably. Ghosts Inc is based in Los Angeles, California.
About The Role
At Ghost, we are on a mission to revolutionize the way inventory is bought and sold B2B. As we scale our data operations, this role is critical to evolving our infrastructure from an early-stage, centralized warehouse to a robust, modular Snowflake-based architecture. You’ll be joining a fast-moving team focused on delivering clean, reliable data to support business operations, product insights, and recommendation engines. We operate in a B2B environment with increasingly complex, two-sided data needs—making scalable modeling and infrastructure essential. This role will shape our data foundation by introducing best practices around raw data ingestion, transformation layers, and analytics readiness. Data unification is a core opportunity today and this role will help us close that gap. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and analytics to ensure our data platform supports decision-making at scale. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who enjoys owning systems end-to-end and building for long-term clarity and performance.

- Design and implement a scalable star schema that support robust analytics and business reporting tables
- Build and maintain ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, integrating data from sources such as Stitch, HubSpot, and internal systems
- Automate manual data workflows and reduce operational overhead by productionizing key processes
- Collaborate with data analysts, product teams, and engineering to define clean data models and enable self-serve access to high-quality datasets
- Monitor and optimize Snowflake warehouse usage to manage costs while ensuring performance and scalability
- Implement and enforce best practices in data governance, testing, and documentation across the warehouse. Including maintaining a data glossary in Notion
- Support the transition of source ownership and raw ingestion logic to the new RAW database with minimal disruption to existing pipelines
- Contribute to the setup of development and staging environments, ensuring reproducibility and version control across deployments
- Maintain snowflake data glossary
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on cloud data warehousing and ELT pipeline design
- Deep expertise in Snowflake, including database and schema design, cost optimization, and performance tuning
- Proficiency in SQL and dbt, with hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade data models
- Experience designing and implementing star schemas, including Fact and Dimension tables
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as Stitch, Fivetran, or Airbyte, and orchestrators like Airflow, Dagster, or similar
- Strong understanding of data governance, testing, and documentation best practices
- Ability to lead infrastructure migrations and refactor legacy systems with minimal disruption
- Comfort working in a B2B environment with evolving data models and multi-tenant structures
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
