Position Description: Terminal is looking for a regional controller to oversee payroll and accounting operations for multiple legal entities. You will report directly to the company’s Head of Finance. We need a hands-on and dynamic individual to own the accounting function in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica and Spain while also partnering with stakeholders across our other international locations to create a fluid accounting and control structure across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the company’s regional accounting operations in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica and Spain - this position will be hands on with processing all accounting and payroll activities within these countries.
- Partner closely with the global accounting team to ensure strong communication and on-time delivery of accounting and payroll results
- Oversee payroll, tax, and treasury functions by working closely with various external service providers across respective countries
- Partner with HR to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees
- Manage AR/AP, the monthly/annual close process, and the generation of standard financial reports for all applicable legal entities
- Own the regional financial statements and be able to understand and provide commentary on the drivers of change to various stakeholders
- Assist U.S. accounting team in performing consolidated financial reporting across Terminal’s international subsidiaries
- Work closely with our global Accounting and Finance employees to build growth-focused best practices
- Manage the intercompany services and cash requirements with U.S. parent entity
- Manage local regulatory filings and audits as needed
- Constantly look for ways to improve the accuracy and efficiency of your assigned functions
Your background:
Required
- CPA
- Proficiency in Mexican GAAP
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 2 – 4 years of public accounting experience or 4+ years of private company experience
- Ownership of or high level of responsibility for the accounting function in at least one prior company
- Experience operating a leading cloud-based accounting and financial reporting system such as Oracle NetSuite
- Experience working with complex, international entity structures
- Fluent in English and Spanish
