About The Role

ShipInsure is on the hunt for a 10x engineer to take our product and team to the next level. We are looking for an engineer who can be both an incredible executor and thoughtful mentor to our existing team of 5 engineers. What You’ll Do

• Champion architectural best practices, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of ShipInsure’s technology stack
• Lead by example in conducting thorough and constructive code reviews, providing feedback that promotes learning and improvement
• Partner with the Head of Product to drive the roadmap forward and optimize processes to ship quality product at scale; foster healthy friction to meet core business objectives
• Collaborate with other engineering leads to make sure we are navigating technical tradeoffs and building the proper technical architecture to scale the business.
• You won’t just be shipping tickets—you’ll be defining the architecture, setting the bar, and directly influencing the direction of a fast-scaling product with real market traction
  
  

What You’ll Bring

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience owning architecture and building products from 0 to 1 in early-stage startups
• 5+ years of full-stack experience, with a strong eye for frontend UX and performance
• Professional programming experience using React/Typescript for building user interfaces and Python (preferred) or Node.js for backend systems
• Strong architectural instincts with a business-first mindset—able to evaluate tradeoffs and pick the right tool for the job
• Experience mentoring engineers and helping teams scale processes and technical decision-making
• Clear, thoughtful communicator who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves solving messy, ambiguous problems
• Track record of balancing speed with technical debt, and knowing when to lean into each
• Relentless drive to ship fast, learn quickly, and iterate Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with Shopify / other e-commerce applications
• Experience with AWS tooling and infrastructure
