As a hands-on expert for people operations in Latin America, the People Operations Partner serves as a key partner to internal teams, employees, and customers, ensuring that our high-growth remote engineering teams have the operational support they need to thrive. You will focus heavily on the unique legal and cultural landscape of our Latam countries, the complexities of managing a global contractor workforce, and drive scale through new market expansion with our reseller partner.
Key Responsibilities
Latam People Operations
- In-Market HR Partnership: Serve as a key point of contact for our employees and customers for our Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Costa Rica entities.
- Employee Relations: Manage, provide consultation and advice on employee relations concerns, provide feedback, and conflict resolution tailored to local labor nuances.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with local labor laws, including statutory benefits, vacation requirements, and termination protocols.
- Local Programming: Leverage data and feedback to recommend talent programming and benefits that drive retention, specifically within the Latam tech market.
- Market Trends: Stay ahead of best practices for software engineering and tech talent, specifically within the Latam space.
Contractor & Reseller Management
- Lifecycle Management: Partner with the Global team to ensure efficient onboarding, offboarding, and renewal processes for contractors across all markets. Liaise with customers and our customer success team to resolve issues relating to contract terms, service delivery concerns.
- Partner Consultancy: Work with our reseller partners to support employment in new markets for our key customers. Develop a strong understanding of local labor practices and market nuances to provide informed guidance and strategic partnership.
Operational Excellence
- Data & Systems: Utilize HR systems (such as Dayforce and Retool) to maintain accurate records and pull analytics for operational needs and decision making.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Customer Success and Global People teams to support the specific needs of our clients.
- Maintain a big-picture perspective while executing operational detail.
- Identify risks or process gaps, and implement improvements that enhance scalability and service quality
Experience & Requirements
- Relevant Experience: 3-5 years of HR experience, ideally in the tech industry or a high-growth startup environment. Experience supporting multiple countries, ideally in LATAM, is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, or a related field; HR designation (e.g., SHRM, PHR) strongly preferred.
- Global Fluency: Professional-level English speaking, writing, and comprehension are required. Advanced fluency in Spanish is highly preferred for the Latam focus.
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills, cross-functionally and externally (eg. customer, local vendors, service providers)
- Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly-changing environment, able to prioritize situations that require a sense of urgency
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly-changing environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Systems Knowledge: Proven experience with HRIS systems (Dayforce experience is a plus).
