About The Role

About Golden Child Golden Child is redefining fresh pet food through an uncompromising focus on health, quality, and culinary craftsmanship. A Miami-based startup, we've built a founding team of board-certified veterinary nutritionists, supply chain experts, and classically trained chefs to engineer a food system held to human-grade standards. Our chef-crafted, science-backed Mains and functional Drizzles are designed to support lifelong health. Because feeding your dog should be an expression of love, care, and taste. https://mygoldenchild.com/ The role We are hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to work across the storefront, the account experience, the configurator, and the surfaces where personalization actually meets the customer. You will also work on the back end when the work demands it: server routes, edge workers, API integrations, data shaping. You will not be siloed. You will ship to production weekly, work directly with product and design, and be expected to have opinions about the product, not just the implementation. How we use AI AI coding agents are not a side tool at Golden Child — they are how we work. We expect every engineer to operate Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent fluently: planning with them, implementing with them, reviewing their output critically, and orchestrating multi-step work across them. The engineers we want know where agents are sharp, where they are blunt, and how to structure problems so the agent does the boring 80% well enough that the human can focus on the 20% that matters. In your interview, expect to talk concretely about how you actually use these tools day to day. "I use Cursor sometimes" is not an answer. We want to hear what you have learned about working with agents that you could not have learned by reading about them.

What You’ll Do

Build and evolve the headless Shopify storefront on Hydrogen (Remix) running on Cloudflare Workers. Ship features across the personalization stack — the configurator, the account experience, the subscription management surfaces, and the CMS-driven configuration that powers all of it. Work on the experimentation layer that lets us run clean A/B tests against a personalized product, and the integrations with our subscription platform and analytics stack. Cross into the back end when needed — server routes, edge workers, GraphQL and REST integrations — without treating it as someone else’s job. Operate AI coding agents as a core part of your workflow and help raise the bar for how the team uses them.

What You’ll Bring

5+ years of experience as a FullStack engineer Strong React and modern framework experience. You have shipped production applications on React and are fluent in at least one of Next.js or React Router (v7 / Remix-style data routing). You can reason about rendering strategies, hydration, and server components without hand-waving. Hands-on experience with headless Shopify. Hydrogen, the Storefront API, the Customer Account API, and the realities of building on Shopify Plus. Bonus points for Shopify Functions, Multipass, or any of the major subscription platforms (Recharge, Skio, Ordergroove). Solid TypeScript. You use the type system as a design tool, not as decoration. Demonstrated fluency with AI coding agents. You can talk specifically about how you use them, where you have learned to trust them, and where you have not. This is a real filter for us, not a checkbox. Comfortable across the stack. You do not need to be a backend specialist, but you should be at ease writing server routes, working with edge functions (Cloudflare Workers a plus), and reasoning about data flow from database to browser. Product sense. You read the analytics. You push back on specs that do not make sense. You propose solutions rather than wait for tickets. Nice to have Experience with subscription commerce or any product where retention and LTV are first-class concerns. Experience with the Cloudflare developer platform (Workers, Durable Objects, KV, D1, R2) or with a headless CMS like Payload or Sanity.
