Foot ID is building the identity infrastructure for feet. At the center is the FootID profile — a clinical and consumer record of a person's foot, created by providers, owned by patients, and used across every channel we operate. Two systems are live in production today: – FootID Pro FootID Pro — the professional platform. Clinicians use it to create and manage patient FootID profiles, configure and order prescription-level orthotics, and — in active development — sync with EHR systems. – Phoenix Phoenix — our back-office manufacturing system. It receives orders from all sales channels and routes them through QC and fulfillment. A third system, MyFootID, is in active development: a consumer-facing platform where patients own and manage their own FootID profile, whether created by a provider through FootID Pro or directly by the consumer themselves. You and one other senior engineer are the technical leads of the company. The CPO and CEO own product and business direction. Everything technical is yours. Your immediate mandate is twofold: extend what's already running in FootID Pro and Phoenix, and build toward the profile-centric architecture that connects them to MyFootID and the channel ecosystem. You weight your time between Vue/Quasar and PHP/Laravel based on where the bottleneck is. You ship end-to-end.

WHAT YOU OWN – End-to-end feature delivery across FootID Pro, MyFootID, and Phoenix. – Architecture and system design, in partnership with the product team. – The profile data model and the permission system that lets patients own and share their FootID. – Channel integrations that allow multiple storefronts to read and fulfill from a single profile. – Engineering foundations: CI/CD, automated testing, zero-downtime deployments, observability. – HIPAA-aligned practices throughout. AI OWNERSHIP There is no inherited AI stack. You define it. – Take AI features from prototype to production — evaluation, observability, cost controls, fallback patterns. – Continuously assess what to adopt, defer, or skip. – Drive efficiencies across developer velocity, operational cost, support load, and internal automation. – Own AI's contribution to product health: performance, reliability, UX quality.

– 7+ years professional software engineering with meaningful time in senior or lead roles. – Production Vue.js (Vue 2 or 3; Quasar preferred). – Production PHP/Laravel — Eloquent, queues, migrations, REST APIs. – AWS in production: EC2, RDS, S3, IAM. – MySQL schema design and query performance. – Experience designing multi-tenant or multi-channel data architectures. – HIPAA-aligned engineering: PHI handling, access controls, audit considerations. – Modern AI dev tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent) in your daily workflow. – Demonstrated experience taking AI features from prototype to production — production scars, not interest. AI experience from Python or Node is welcome if you move fast in Laravel. – US-based or LATAM nearshore with core PST overlap. PREFERRED – Healthcare, DME, or regulated-industry experience. – Manufacturing, fulfillment, or carrier/shipping integration. – Experience building portable identity or record-sharing systems. – GitFlow with Jira. – Founding or early-engineer experience at a lean company.
