About The Role
We are looking for a Senior or Staff Data Analyst to support our Business Intelligence team on a contract basis. The initial scope of this engagement covers three areas: implementing dbt as the standard framework for building data infrastructure, developing a warehouse layer with the help of AI tooling, and establishing Airflow as the primary orchestration tool for our pipelines. This is a role for someone who can hit the ground running. You should be comfortable working independently, making architectural decisions, and delivering clean, well-documented work without much oversight.
What You’ll Do
•Implement dbt: Own the dbt implementation — write modular, tested, and well-documented SQL transformations; establish model organization standards; and build a semantic layer analysts can reliably build on. •Develop the Warehouse Layer: Design and build scalable data models (fact tables, dimension tables, marts) using AI tooling to speed up development. Define how data is structured so every team is working from the same source of truth. •Orchestrate with Airflow: Build and maintain production pipelines in Airflow, including DAG authoring, scheduling, and monitoring for ingestion, transformation, and delivery workflows. •Own the BI Stack: Support administration for Domo and Tableau as needed, connecting the warehouse layer to downstream reporting. •Build Advanced Solutions: Use advanced BI features and custom code to build dashboards that pull from multiple sources.
What You’ll Bring
Experience: •4+ years in a business intelligence or data analytics role, preferably at a high-growth tech or marketplace company. •Hands-on experience with dbt in a production environment — models, tests, documentation, and model organization. •Strong background in data modeling: dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, building marts that serve diverse business needs. •Experience building and maintaining production pipelines in Airflow, including DAG authoring, scheduling, and monitoring. •Familiarity with AI tools to speed up data development workflows. •Experience with BI platforms (Domo, Tableau) and managing production codebases in GitHub. Skills: •Advanced SQL and dbt proficiency. •Strong Python background. •Able to work independently and deliver well-documented, production-ready work. •Clear communicator — comfortable working async and keeping stakeholders in the loop. •Naturally curious about technical systems and inclined to automate where possible.
