 About The Role You will work on our backend micro services cloud platform. Initial objective is to re-architect core services like our notifications platform, media services and authentication systems. For the notifications system we want to move to a Kafka based model. We’re replacing some of our RDBMS systems with a NoSQL system like MongoDB. In the case of our authentication system this is a large overhaul to eliminate some legacy open source software. With the media services we are overhauling the pipeline processing and also migrating the underlying datastore What you'll do <ul>
<li>Build, maintain and improve applications for the GoPro Cloud</li>
<li>Maintain the associated CI/CD pipelines for the ecosystem</li>
<li>Document the implemented solution</li>
<li>Provide estimations of work effort</li>
<li>Work together with QA, Program and Product to ensure timely delivery with quality 
</li>
</ul>What you bring <ul>
<li>Ruby on Rails proficiency</li>
<li>Experience with asynch event driven systems like Kafka</li>
<li>Rest APIs</li>
<li>NoSql databases like MongoDB</li>
<li>General AWS skills (RDS, Kubernetes of EKS, etc)</li>
