About The Role

Ghost is a private, b2b marketplace that helps scale distribution for the best brands in the world. Ghost works with leading brands in streetwear, apparel, footwear, beauty, and home to find alternative distribution channels for surplus inventory. By providing transparency, data, and a network of vetted buyers, the Ghost platform serves as the backbone for sellers to diversify and optimize their inventory lifecycle. Backed by top VC funds (USV, Equal, Cathay Innovations), Ghost is one of the fastest growing startups in LA. We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who loves solving complex problems. You will help us build our platform from the ground up to serve our growing customer ecosystem. You will deliver outcomes by producing quality code that supports Ghost’s business needs. You will be a technical contributor with proficiency in Ghost’s current tech stack and be a part of a knowledge-sharing environment by participating in code reviews and design discussions. What You’ll Do

• Deliver outcomes by understanding the business needs and producing quality code to scale our existing business. Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineering and product to meet milestones and build and ship systems to serve our customers.
• Be a technical thought leader with proficiency in Ghost’s current tech stack. Create a knowledge-sharing environment where code reviews and design discussions are the norm. Speak up and contribute to collaborative technical discussions with leadership. Competencies
• Deliver scalable technical solutions to solve business needs. Solve complex technical problems and build scalable solutions for business/customer needs.
• Lead and evangelize engineering best practices. Produce high-quality code, perform code reviews, help with architecture and design, and introduce technical best practices (testing, monitoring, etc.)
• Influence and alignment: ability to communicate technical ideas across teams. Coach/Mentor Jr. engineers as our team grows to pay it forward and align the team in a growth mindset. In addition to the above competencies, a Senior Engineer at Ghost must also possess the following baseline skills:

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years building scalable engineering solutions across the stack: React, Typescript, JavaScript, and Node
• Deliver technical solutions to solve business needs
• Ability to lead feature development: decompose larger projects into features & stories for other team members for assignment and assist other developers in driving the feature to completion
• Promote engineering best practices
• Collaborate and communicate effectively across teams
• Experience working in a rapid growth startup experience
• An individual contributor who is hands-on, collaborative, and proficient in their craft
• Prior experience scaling technology at a startups
• Genuine passion and interest in the problems we are solving
• Ability to make decisions and find alignment with the team Nice to Have
• Experience with NestJS and/or NextJS
