About The Role

We're building a bank for creators. Your favorite digital creators—the ones you follow every day on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or Twitch—arenʼt just extraordinarily talented personalities and community builders. Theyʼre also businesses. That means they have business needs—managing revenues, expenses, savings, credit, banking. Weʼre building products that help creators spend less time worrying about finances so they can focus on creating. Our team is looking to add a seasoned fullstack javascript engineer to develop exceptional experiences to a community that expects no less. This is a critical role at Karat where youʼll be working closely with founders, senior staff and cross functional counterparts on our flagship charge card product!

What You’ll Do

• Help build 01 product.
• Conceptualize, design, and code—solving problems that span multiple domains. Create a decoupled debit card from scratch, analytics tools to help influencers understand their finances, or savings accounts with features designed to empower time-starved creators.
• Influence your team members on best practices, tools, and technology through tech talks and discussions.
• Create internal tooling, helping ensure our team has the tools we need to properly support and underwrite the creators we work with.
• Optimize & improve our QA, testing, build, and delivery pipelines related to the user experience.
• Help drive company and product strategy as we change how creators and influencers do business.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• Fluency in React, Typescript, and GraphQL (big plus if you are familiar with the Apollo Client & Server Framework), opinionated on technical patterns and testing methodologies; can convey tradeoffs and recommendations to peers.
• Strong experience with AWS, altering systems, integration testing, and process management
• 1+ year of experience as a technical lead
• Product thinking: You understand strategy and care about what and why as equally as how.
• Collaboration: You can inspire, play, and negotiate with PMs, designers, and execs.
• Focus: We are a high-growth startup with a busy, remote team. You know how and when to engage or be heads down.
• Ownership: We are a team that believes in transparency and autonomy, and you channel that into decision-making and course correction when things go wrong Nice to Have:
• You're knowledgeable and have previously worked in fintech, with influencers or at a startup
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
