About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Mobile Development Team. Your mission will be to enhance our backend services, focusing on a backend-driven approach that streamlines the mobile development cycle of our native applications. You will improve our service API, integrating multiple data sources to deliver the best possible solutions that showcase the value of subscribing to Babbel.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement backend services using Node.js and TypeScript to support mobile applications. Improve and maintain service APIs that effectively integrate various data sources. Collaborate closely with mobile developers to ensure seamless integration and performance. Monitor system health and performance using AWS tools (CloudWatch, PagerDuty, Rollbar) to ensure reliability and efficiency. Document system designs, capabilities, and best practices for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Break down larger deliverables into manageable tasks, ensuring timely and quality delivery. Communicate effectively with QA, PMs, and other teams, aligning the needs of different platforms.
What You’ll Bring
Requirements Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Extensive experience with AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, and CloudFront. Strong background in API design and development, with a focus on usability and performance. Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as CloudWatch, PagerDuty, and Rollbar. Experience developing services for mobile teams. A product mindset. Nice to Have Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB). Knowledge of Event Driven Architecture and best practices in API design. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
