The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Planner to join our mining construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and scheduling, with hands-on experience in managing construction projects across various sites. The role will focus on coordinating project timelines, resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Responsibilities
- Project Scheduling & Planning: develop and maintain detailed construction schedules and labor plans, coordinate with engineering and business operations leaders in Vegas, and create/manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Resource Management: allocate resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials, and track/adjust resource allocation to meet changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Risk Management: identify potential scheduling conflicts or delays and propose solutions to mitigate project disruptions, and develop contingency plans and maintain communication with stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Communication: work closely with project managers, engineering, and construction teams to ensure all parties are aligned with the project schedule and deadlines, and provide regular progress updates, including reports on schedule adherence and overall status.
- Continuous Improvement: analyze project data to identify trends and recommend improvements to scheduling processes, contribute to the ongoing development of bet practices in construction planning.
Basic Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 4-7 years of experience in construction planning or project scheduling within the construction industry.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a breadth of leaders and construction teams.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and providing effective solutions to prevent delays or cost overruns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree.
- 6+ years of experience in construction planning.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment at a high-growth company.
