As a Contract Recruiter focused on production hiring, you will drive the recruitment of top talent for roles critical to our mission, including manufacturing, assembly, welding, machining, and operations positions. You will partner with production teams to source, screen, interview, and onboard candidates with hands-on experience in high-tech manufacturing or infrastructure projects. This role demands autonomy, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment while representing The Boring Company with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Partner with production hiring managers to understand headcount needs, refine job requisitions, create targeted job postings, and align on hiring strategies and interview feedback.
- Source skilled production talent (e.g., technicians, welders, machinists, assembly specialists) using innovative strategies, including LinkedIn, industry networks, trade schools, and vocational programs.
- Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers with clear recommendations.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including coordinating onsite interviews, candidate tours, offer negotiations, background checks, reference verification, and new hire paperwork.
- Identify recruitment challenges in production hiring and propose actionable solutions to streamline processes.
- Train hiring managers and team members on best practices for recruiting and interviewing production candidates.
- Organize and execute recruitment events, such as job fairs, facility tours, or virtual webinars tailored to production roles.
- Ensure compliance with EEO/OFCCP regulations, supporting annual reporting requirements.
- Build relationships with diverse talent networks, trade unions, and industry associations to enhance candidate pipelines.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of recruiting experience, with a focus on production, manufacturing, or skilled trade roles.
- Proven track record as an in-house or agency recruiter in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience recruiting for production roles in advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, or startup environments.
- Expertise in non-traditional sourcing methods, such as targeted LinkedIn campaigns, industry events, or partnerships with apprenticeship programs.
- Strong ability to distinguish top-tier talent (e.g., top 5% vs. top 50%) in production fields.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with hiring managers, including Director and VP-level leaders.
