The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

As a Mechanical Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting mechanical operations for ongoing Tunneling projects in Las Vegas, NV.

Responsibilities

Maintain and organize Mechanical and Hydraulic shop, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
Processes requisitions and small parts orders to ensure proper inventory levels in tool rooms and supply cages.
Provides insight to management on tools and supplies needed.
Oversees day-to-day tracking of all tools and consumables assigned to the Mechanics team onsite.
Support mechanics and technicians in equipment / tool maintenance as needed.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid US driver's license
Knowledge of tools and their uses and applications
Knowledge of mechanical hardware and fasteners

Preferred Skills and Experience

1+ years of experience in a mechanics shop
Technical/Vocational education
Forklift or Heavy Equipment Operation experience

Additional Requirements

Position may require extended hours and weekend work
Ability to lift and haul 40 lbs unassisted
Ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, push and pull
Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions
