The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
The Paralegal will assist the legal, business, and regulatory affairs of the Company, working directly with The Boring Company’s Head of Legal Affairs and other principals. As the Paralegal, you will problem-solve from the ground up (and down). You must be highly adaptable and excited about high-level strategic thinking.
Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all applicable permits, approvals, regulatory conditions, and reporting obligations, ensuring project activities remain fully compliant.
- Read, interpret, and summarize legal, regulatory, and technical documents, translating complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance for internal teams.
- Track compliance milestones, submittals, agency correspondence, and deadlines, proactively identifying risks and coordinating mitigation strategies.
- Prepare external-facing briefings and written updates on project status and site-specific details.
- Maintain detailed meeting notes, regulatory commitments logs, and organized project documentation to support audits, inspections, and agency reviews.
- Work closely with the engineering, construction, and operation teams to develop and implement internal systems and processes to ensure timely communication, accountability, and completion of tasks across teams.

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting legal, regulatory, and technical documents.
- Ability to quickly understand and synthesize a wide range of complex topics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Process-oriented with demonstrated ability to create systems and workflows.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineers, construction teams, regulators, and executives.
- Willing to work extended hours as project needs require.
- Comfortable working in field environments and getting hands-on when necessary.
- Experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, infrastructure, construction, legal support, or public agency coordination is strongly preferred.
