The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
As a Loop Operator, you are at the heart of mission control for the Vegas Loop. You will monitor and direct the flow of vehicles transporting thousands of passengers per hour, putting you at the forefront of helping our operations team grow and scale. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, thrives under pressure, and is excited to work cross-functionally to improve processes as our system expands.

Schedule Requirements

This position primarily requires evening, overnight, and weekend availability. Please ensure you are comfortable with the following before applying:
  • Primary Shifts: Late afternoon/evening (Swing) and Overnight (Graveyard) shifts.
  • Days: Regular weekend availability is required.
  • Note: Rare daytime shift flexibility may be required occasionally for training or special event coverage.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor Operations: Oversee vehicles, drivers, and loading stations to ensure maximum safety, security, and efficiency.
  • Emergency Response: Coordinate swift, decisive emergency response actions in the event of an incident.
  • Dispatching: Dispatch drivers dynamically to ensure a seamless, world-class experience for our guests.
  • Driver Coordination: Manage driver breaks and lunches to maintain customer experience while strictly adhering to driver work-hour limitations.
  • Special Projects: Collaborate on a variety of cross-functional projects as the transit system expands.


Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid United States Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated drug screening.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work proactively and independently.
  • High adaptability and willingness to take on different responsibilities based on company needs.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven ability to maintain peak performance and composure under high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace (creating spreadsheets, documents, and presentations).
  • Experience in email-based customer support or dispatch environments.
