We currently partner with Deel (Deel.com) as our employer of record* in Canada.

As a machine learning engineer at Vanta, you will play a crucial role in shaping Vanta’s AI offerings, improving the performance of our AI systems, and setting technical strategy for our end to end ML/AI architecture. You’ll form the core AI team around which many AI applications will be built and shipped.

The AI team aims to revolutionize the operation of security and compliance programs. We are doing so by streamlining the tedious Q&A process in security reviews and arming our users with actionable insights based on their business context and vanta’s subject matter expertise.

As a Staff/Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be working alongside a multidisciplinary group of Product engineers, PMs, and security and compliance experts to implement, scale, and maintain ML pipelines to provide value to our users.

What you’ll do as a Staff/Senior AI at Vanta:

  • You’ll be conceptualizing, designing, and evaluating AI/ML solutions

  • You’ll collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data and improve performance of AI systems through pre-training, fine-turning, and RLHF.

  • You’ll partner with product teams to define product strategies and drive directions for Vanta’s AI offerings

  • You’ll work with a small group of engineers to architect a scalable ML infrastructure, including data pipeline, model serving, and monitoring.

  • [Staff] You’ll lead ground breaking efforts to develop new approaches and provide thought leadership to the organization to invent and implement visions for Vanta AI

How to be successful in this role:

  • You have experience building ML systems from ground up, shipping ML solutions to production, and owning the full ML development lifecycle

  • Expertise in building, deploying and maintaining LLM-based applications in productions. Expertise in embeddings, RAG, Agent, prompt engineering, and fine tuning.

  • You have hands-on experience with emerging LLM frameworks and plugins, such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, VectorStores and Retrievers, LLM Cache, LLMOps, etc

  • You embrace ambiguities, take initiative, and turn ideas into solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with basic ML modeling is a plus

  • Coding and software engineering skills is a plus
