The Strategic Finance team drives leverage and investing in opportunities for growth. Our team is tasked with building targets, setting budgets, and helping leaders execute against plans. This encompasses a wide breadth of business partnership and reporting for the Executive Team and Board of Directors. This dynamic team is responsible for in-depth data analysis and strategic awareness that drive decisions and the overall direction of the company.

As a Senior Strategic Finance Manager at Vanta, you will be the financial liaison between the Strategic Finance team and the Engineering and General & Administrative functions at the company. You will be instrumental in budgeting, forecasting, providing strategic guidance, and completing various projects. The Strategic Finance team partners with every organization in the company and this role will be at the forefront of cross collaboration and decision-making for a significant portion of the organization. This role will report into our Head of FP&A and is a perfect blend of financial expertise, thought leadership, and business partnership.

What you’ll do as a Senior Strategic Finance Manager at Vanta:

• Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a trusted Finance partner for Engineering, Product, and G&A functional leaders. Enable key stakeholders on insights produced and provide recommendations to improve business outcomes.

• Exhibit financial expertise: Manage the forecasting and budgeting processes for Engineering, Product and G&A departments. Conduct monthly budget reviews and spearhead annual/quarterly planning efforts.

• Deliver strategic insights: Lead financial efforts and provide insights on various projects such as forecasting product delivery costs, pricing and packaging strategy, professional services modeling, and many more!

• Manifest leadership: Provide mentorship and facilitate the growth of the Strategic Finance team

• Deliver results: Prepare recommendations on incremental investment opportunities by weighing financial and strategic trade-offs.

How to be successful in this role:

• Experience: 8+ years of related experience, ideally in corporate finance, financial planning, and analysis (FP&A), investment banking, or investment management. FP&A or strategic finance experience supporting SaaS businesses and/or the tech industry is critical

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides. Bonus for experience in SQL and NetSuite

• Analytical Thinking: Strong capability to tackle projects, extract key insights, and translate them into actionable strategies that drive business impact.

• Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively and establish relationships with business partners. Bonus for experience partnering with engineering functions.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying financial insights in a comprehensible and engaging manner.

• Self starter: Time and project management skills, the curiosity and drive to dig a level deeper

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or equivalent. A Master’s degree or higher is advantageous.

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. We hire for this position at multiple levels internally and the base pay range for this position is $191,000 - $225,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
