About Workwise
We're on a mission to improve the livelihoods of hourly workers through transparency and trust, starting with finding better jobs. We’re backed by top institutional VC firms and other seasoned operators to help make our shared vision into reality.
About the Role
Workwise is searching for its first Head of Community. We are looking carefully for someone who:
Empathizes with the feelings, emotions, and perspectives of our target audience of underserved full-time hourly workers.
Innately understands the importance of our worker-first mission through personal experience.
Resonates with our target audience through deeper emotional connection, relatability, authenticity, and relevance.
In short, we’re looking for someone who can build trust and connect with the workers we serve at a human level, and then create thriving communities for those workers.
What you’ll do:
Design, nurture, and grow Workwise's overall community presence from the ground up, both online and offline
Own and execute on our community based tech-enabled product
Crafting the company’s social media presence and strategy, including our message, voice, tone, and identity in order to effectively highlight the topics and stories that resonate within our target audience
Create and implement strategies for creating, managing, and scaling hyper-localized communities that are deeply intertwined with the company’s platform and services
Work with the founding team to determine key community-focused north star metrics in order to measure the effectiveness of community engagement and outreach
Serve as a public-facing representative of the Workwise brand, including actively engaging in-person within the communities we serve
What we’re looking for:
Standout Communication Skills: Able to connect, engage, and resonate with diverse audiences in their voice and language
People-First Drive: Passion for improving the lives of hourly workers and a deep understanding of their needs and challenges
Creativity Within Ambiguity: Welcomes white space as opportunity to think outside the box and color outside the lines
Speed & Independence: Able to drive projects from 0-to-1 quickly and autonomously
Data-driven Decision Making: Has a knack for identifying, collecting, and analyzing the right community engagement metrics to drive big-picture decisions
Growth Mindset: Believes everything—success, failure, and everything in-between—is a learning opportunity, and sees growth as an action verb
Heart & Head: Balances decision-making with both logic and emotional intelligence
Bonus Qualifications
Proven experience in community building, management, and engagement in a startup environment
Experience in product management and building products from 0 to 1
Background in organizing and hosting community events and meetups
Existing relationships with relevant local organizations and stakeholders
